For Entrepreneurs

You don’t have to do this alone.

We’ve built a free community of Edtech founders dedicated to improving our industry. Think of this community as a sort of “public accelerator” where you can find camaraderie, advice, and mentorship.  Together, the Project FoundED community becomes an invaluable platform from which to collect data and identify the barriers to innovative solutions and the delivery of equitable outcomes.

We believe that the collective insights generated by our founder community can lead to great things - making our investment mechanisms more efficient, highlighting non-traditional founders, promoting EdTech innovation, and more. Together, we can change this industry to work better and stay focused on learning outcomes.

The Problem

The EdTech road to success is full of twists, turns, and invisible speed bumps.

The EdTech industry is incredibly inefficient from an outcomes perspective. The products that make the most money win. Business models that favor inequitable outcomes are most attractive. The best products don’t win—the ones that make the most money do.

Early-stage funding for EdTech startups is difficult to secure (and getting harder).

Proving “efficacy” for potential funders and buyers is a maddening chicken and egg problem.

There is no standard way in which educational institutions make buying decisions.

Generating meaningful partnerships with schools takes a long time.

Marketing rarely works without a certain level of success and scale.

The relationship between educators and EdTech vendors is not one based on trust.

Our EdTech Entrepreneur Community Provides:

  • A private (and free) online network of peers for EdTech entrepreneurs to seek camaraderie, mentorship, and partnership.

  • Webinars, best-practice guides, insightful reports, and whitepapers.

  • Members have found strategic advice from our staff and their fellow community members.

  • Video-based courses on topics specific to EdTech entrepreneurs

  • We create additional opportunities for members to meet each other at conferences, virtually, and in between.

  • We compiled the most complete database of EdTech Funders to date.

  • Our list of strategic partners also dedicated to educational equity is steadily growing.

Project FoundEd has provided an incredible community of EdTech founders with unique and diverse perspectives. There is a lot of intentionality around building the community, sharing resources, celebrating wins, and pushing each other forward.
